Verified ReviewerAvoid Appliance Warehouse Of America at All Costs
I'm writing this review in a state of utter frustration and disappointment after my dealings with Appliance Warehouse Of America. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel it's crucial to warn potential customers about the shoddy business practices of this company.
Firstly, the condition of the appliances upon delivery was appalling.
Both the washer and dryer were filthy, complete with someone else's socks left in the washer. This was not just an inconvenience but a health concern. I spent two hours cleaning them, which is completely unacceptable for rented appliances.
The functionality of these machines was equally abysmal. The dryer was practically useless, taking six cycles to dry a single bedsheet.
The sheer inefficiency of it is mind-boggling. I was away for the second month of my rental period, rendering me unable to address this issue sooner. However, one would expect some level of quality assurance from a rental company, which was completely absent here.
When I approached Appliance Warehouse Of America for a refund for the second month, citing the defective dryer and my inability to use it, their response was not only uncooperative but downright unprofessional. They pushed me towards a credit card dispute, absolving themselves of any responsibility.
After a prolonged two-month dispute process, which was resolved in my favor due to their lack of response, I thought the matter was settled.
However, the situation escalated when I was contacted by a collection agency for a debt that was supposedly resolved. This is not just poor customer service; it's an outrageous business practice. Calling their customer service was an exercise in futility. Jess and Jessica, the representatives I spoke to, were dismissive and rude, showing a complete lack of understanding or empathy for the situation their company had put me in.
Let's talk about the economic absurdity of their rental scheme.
The appliances they provide are of such low quality that they would likely cost $200-300 if bought outright. Their rental charges, starting at $20 for the first month and then jumping to $45 for subsequent months, are a total rip-off. In a year-long contract, this adds up to $495 ($45 x 11 + $20), nearly the cost of buying new appliances, with the added 'bonus' of dealing with their horrendous service.
In conclusion, my experience with Appliance Warehouse Of America has been a study of how not to run a rental service. From delivering dirty, dysfunctional appliances to exhibiting a complete lack of accountability and customer service etiquette, this company has been a disaster to deal with.
I urge anyone considering renting appliances to steer clear of Appliance Warehouse Of America.
It's a trap that lures you with seemingly low initial costs but leaves you dealing with subpar appliances, dreadful service, and potentially hidden charges. Save your money and your sanity, avoid this company at all costs.

I have been renting from this company for years never had a problem. This company must be turned over to a new owner, the business is horrible now.
I live in an apartment complex that is being torn down, I called and told them to come pick up their equipment, they told me it has to be two weeks before they can do that, I informed them I would not be here and if they want their equipment they have to come get it before we moved out, that gives them a week. After being on the phone for 25 minutes the idiot came back on the phone and said they can be there on the 6th of February 2024 before the week is up and it will be before we move out, I told her that will be fine. February 6th 2024 came and no one showed up, I kept calling and the phone system is down saying something about the csc is down and they are working on it which is bull. It's been days and their phone system is still down and we already moved out and the equipment is still in the apartment.
I emailed them like they said to do in the recording but no one gets back to you until later and nothing is still done after they emailed me back. They act like they don't want their equipment back.
I told them the apartment complex is already in process of tearing down buildings, it's just a matter of time when they will tear down ours. The people working at this company are idiots.

This company is ridiculous. They are the biggest scam.
We set up our move out date and called appliance warehouse to come pick up our items 1 week before we move out of our apartment. Guess what rhey never came. We called 3 days after the original schedule date and they said they came to get them and no one was home. Which is very inaccurate because my wife had surgery and didn't leave the house for 6 weeks.
Our apartment manager said that appliance warehouse did this all the time and they had so many washer and dryers stored from renters that had moved out and appliance wearhouse never showed up. We called several times and scheduled several other Apts for them to pick it up even after we moved out. They continued to take money out of our account. We had to dispute the charges with our bank.
And while we moved out in Oct 2023 they still have not came and picked up the appliance. Because we disputed our charges with our bank they have now dent us to collections.
We have hired a lawyer and will be taking legal action. This company prays on people and needs to be stopped.
- Dont come pick up the appliances
- You get charged for months after you move out
Preferred solution: This company has to stop. We are taking legal action.
User's recommendation: Do not use this company

Verified Reviewer | Cocoa, FloridaBe aware!
I bought a washer and a dryer and when they arrive they were not working properly. Call the store they gave their word on refunding the money back to me because the tech was not coming to check the items and the day they were coming to pick up the item who came was the tech, after they denied what they said nor refunded back my money.
Also, the GE tech was supporting the store because he said to me that the store has nothing to do with the appliances anymore and gave me the GE customer relation. I did not buy the appliances from the GE Corporation I bought it from this 'unfriendly' store, there was no reason for him to said that to me.
I guess they must be friends. So be aware of not only the store but also the GE tech.

Horrible
They called, I missed their call, so I called them back when I could which was only 30 minutes later. I didn't get anyone, so after spending some on the phone waiting J opted for the call back option.
I get a call back about 10 minutes later from a 469 number. The person seemed to be new at the job. I finally verify all my information and he still wanted to know why I was calling. I inform him that applianceswhse called me and I was returning the call.
He tries to tell me something about my payments. I tell him, my w/d haven't even been delivered and ur talkin' about payments. He looks a little deeper I guess and then informs me that they had to change my delivery date. I ask why are u guys changing the delivery date on the day off and he finally says due to lack of equipment.
I ask, how did my order go through if there was a shortage of equipment(obviously they gave my reserved equipment to someone else), but instead of bein' honest he simply put me on hold and later hung up without a response.
If I could give this place a 0, I would. It has been a nightmare from the beginning.

Verified ReviewerTo make people aware of this company and to stay far far away from them
10/2023 I moved into an apt where appliance warehouse had not picked up a washer and dryer from a previous renter. So, I called them and said I would like to rent them.
12/6/2023 I called and informed them I was moving out the end of the month.
We agreed on them picking the equipment on 12/28/2023.
12/28/2023 I received email stating the truck broke down and they were rescheduling for 1/2/2024. I had moved out but let property manager know. I also called the company, the lady said just leave them outside. Its winter here in Utah plus the contract states Im not allowed to moved them.
Also, if stolen I have to pay for the appliances.
1/2/2024 received email stating truck still broken rescheduling for 1/9/2024.
Meanwhile on 1/5/2024 they took another payment out of my account. When I called them as to why they did that as I DONT LIVE THERE ANYMORE, I was told they are still in my possession.
- Lack of professionalism
Preferred solution: Full refund

I went through appliance warehouse to rent a washer and dryer at my house. Things were fine until it was time for the pickup.
I had to wait on hold for HOURS to speak to someone to ask what the ETA was of the pickup so I could make sure I was home. They informed me there was no estimated time just some time that day. I had already moved all of my stuff out so I had to wait around all day. I called a second time to confirm they would call me before coming so I could make sure I was there.
They informed me theyd call an hour before showing up. I never received a call or a message so I wasnt home. I again had to make multiple calls for multiple hours to reschedule it and they kept changing the day. its the day of pickup and they did give me an estimated time today but here we are an hour after the estimated time already and I am on hold yet again for over an hour.
I would never recommend this company to anyone.
If I could leave less than 1 star I would. Do not use them.

Unpleasant experience
I have been a loyal customer of Appliance Warehouse of America for the past five years, and for the most part, I've held a positive view of this company. However, this year has brought about the most distressing experience I've ever encountered.
My unfortunate ordeal began when my old apartment complex damaged the washer and dryer units.
Regrettably, I discovered this issue on June 1st, 2023, and promptly contacted Appliance Warehouse, expressing my willingness to cover the cost of replacement, which they quoted at $475. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of my ongoing nightmare.
Over the course of nearly five months, I've had to call them every week, sometimes even every two weeks, to inquire about the progress. Each time, I asked, "Have you sent out the invoice?" Their response was always the same, assuring me that they were working diligently on resolving the matter. However, despite these reassurances, the issue remained unresolved.
To compound my anxiety, they continued to send me email and mail reminders for the monthly rental fees, despite my repeated attempts to inform them that the appliances were no longer in my possession. It was deeply troubling to receive these bill reminders with such frequency, and every time I brought it up with them, they offered empty reassurances without taking any concrete actions to rectify the situation.
To make matters worse, they eventually engaged a debt collection agency to demand payment for the outstanding monthly fees. I was utterly shocked and terrified, as I had never faced such a situation before. I had to painstakingly explain the situation to the collection agency and then contact Appliance Warehouse, pleading with them to rectify the situation and remove the erroneous debt collection entry.
Much to my dismay, they claimed they were unable to remove it.
Now, they are insisting that I pay $600 without tax. After five long months of enduring this ordeal, it feels unjust and heartbreaking that they are demanding even more money from me. Throughout this entire ordeal, I have been the one diligently seeking a resolution, while Appliance Warehouse has failed to make any meaningful progress.
To make matters worse, their customer service response time has been excessively long, often exceeding 80 minutes on workdays. This entire experience has taken an emotional toll on me, leaving me feeling deeply disheartened and distressed.
I am at a loss for words, and I find myself seeking assistance and support from any available avenues.

You need to use the term idiot on yourself. You know very well you were probably told after Thanksgiving about the building being torn down.
That is the time you needed to call for pickup. You need to realize the only one going to lose big is you. You’re on the poor end renting appliances. You waited too long and now act like it’s not your problem.
If you don’t get it to them somehow, they will keep charging you rent and eventually a charge-off against you for it’s value.
Your credit will tank even more. But keep calling others names.
